Runners are priests, in a way.
They dance against gravity
as a kind of ritual.

They exchange air more rapidly
than anything else
currently on the planet.

I wonder what village elders discover
when they run long distances
well into old age.
I will only know if I do it.

The meditation is never over
until you say it is over.

I do not fast for forty days.
I run for thirty minutes.

I do not run to get in shape.
I run to run.
